Self-confident detectors (IS), detection and warning devices are used in ex-proof environments. These products should be used with a zener barrier to be placed outside the exproof area. The security of the environment can only be ensured in this way.
Those with ex-proof protection class protection can be used directly in heat detectors. There are also classes called thermocouples. Those that do not have an ex-proof case must be self-contained (IS) certified and used with a zener barrier.
Ex-proof (Does not spread flame) Flame detectors:
Flame detectors are divided into two groups: UV (Ultraviolet) and IR (Infrared).
Although UV detectors have been technologically improved in recent years, IR detectors are preferred in critical environments and large areas due to their more selective and stable operation. Detectors can be connected to many fire detection, gas detection and automation systems with 4-20 mA connection or contact output connection.
Ex-proof (Does not spread flame) Buttons, sirens and flashers:
Buttons, emergency buttons, sirens and sirens with flashing lights applied in environments where explosive and flammable substances and the volatile gases created by these substances are used must be ex-proof. These products must also have an Atex certificate.
Atex certified products work completely isolated from the environment. Heating, sparks, etc. that may occur on it. It absolutely does not leak such situations into the environment. This eliminates the risk of explosion in the environment.
For an ex-proof gas detection system, it is not enough for the products to be certified. All infrastructure cabling, piping and assembly equipment must have the same characteristics.
System equipment: Ex-proof fire detectors, Ex-proof flashing lights, Ex-proof sirens, Ex-proof warning buttons, Ex-proof pipes, ex-proof(Does not spread flame)
Classification of Places Where Explosive Atmosphere May Occur:
Dangerous places are classified into regions based on the frequency of occurrence of an explosive atmosphere and the duration of this environment, taking into account the definitions below. It is important that the detection devices to be used in these places are made of the appropriate type and the infrastructure is created accordingly.
Zone O: Places where an explosive atmosphere consisting of a mixture of flammable substances in the form of gas, vapor and mist with air occurs continuously, for a long time or frequently.
Zone 1: Places where an explosive atmosphere consisting of a mixture of flammable substances in the form of gas, vapor and mist with air is likely to occur occasionally under normal operating conditions.
Zone 2: Places where flammable substances in the form of gas, vapor and mist are not likely to mix with air and create an explosive atmosphere under normal operating conditions, or even if such a possibility exists, places where the explosive atmosphere is permanent for a very short time.
Zone 20: Places where flammable dust in the form of a cloud in the air may create an explosive atmosphere continuously or for long periods of time or frequently.
Zone 21: Places where flammable dust in the form of a cloud in the air may occasionally create an explosive atmosphere under normal operating conditions.
Zone 22: Places where, under normal operating conditions, there is no possibility of clouds of flammable dust in the air creating an explosive atmosphere, but even if such a possibility exists, this is only valid for a very short period of time. Places where flammable dust is present in layers or piles should also be considered as another source that may create an explosive atmosphere.
